Scope

The HPLC Symposium series is the premier meeting for high performance liquid phase separations and related techniques. The 33rd HPLC Symposium will be held in Kyoto, Japan, December 2 to 5, 2008, which is the first meeting in Asia as a regular HPLC Symposium.

The symposium will cover all aspects of separations by liquid chromatography and electrophoresis as well as related hyphenated techniques and detection methods.

Emphasis will be given to the following areas.

(1) Column technologies and miniaturized separation/detection systems.
(2) High-efficiency-, high-speed-, and high-peak-capacity separations.
(3) Life-science-oriented (omics, pharmaceutical, biological, biomedical, etc.) applications.

Attendees from industrial and government research institutions and academia are invited to participate in the technical program, which will include invited lectures, oral presentations as parallel sessions, and poster presentations in addition to the plenary sessions.

Proceedings will be published as a special issue of an international chromatographic journal.

Official language is English.

Call for Papers

Authors wishing to present papers in oral or poster sessions are encouraged to submit abstracts within 300 words in English via e-mail.
Preference for oral or poster presentations should be indicated at the bottom of the abstract.
Authors, who wish to give an oral presentation in an evening session for young researchers and students, should also indicate their preference in the abstract.
Please refer to the sample abstract (MS-word).

Oral Communications
A limited number of oral communications will be scheduled for a maximum of 20 min (including discussion). Facilities for PowerPoint projection will be provided.
Poster presentations Posters will be displayed for two successive days, from Tuesday December 2 to Wednesday December 3, or from Thursday December 4 to Friday December 5.
Authors should be ready to discuss the work on the day of their presentation (Wednesday or Thursday). Posters will be mounted at allocated positions.
Poster space is nominally 90 cm wide and 200 cm high.

Abstract submission
Abstracts for oral presentations should be submitted by August 31, and for poster presentations by September 30.
All submitted abstracts will be reviewed by a scientific review committee. Abstracts accepted will be printed in the Symposium Abstract Book.
Acceptance notification will be done by e-mail according to the arrival order. We remind you that at least the presenting author should be registered before October 31, 2008 to confirm participation. The organizers cannot guarantee that abstracts received after October 31, 2008 will be published in the Abstract Book.
